Ortus Charters has two USCG certified captains, Mark Welcome and Scott Yelle, who are life-long friends with a love for being on the water. This friendship and love for fishing led them to start Ortus. We love to share our experience from fishing the waters of Cape Cod with our guests. We have been fishing around Cape Cod for over 20 years.

As Ortus Charters Captains, we  take safety very seriously. It is a top priority in every one of our fishing and boating excursions. Our boat and gear is safety inspected by the USCG.

We are based out of Wellfleet, MA and specialize in striped bass, bluefish, and bluefin tuna. We also fish for fluke, haddock, cod, and black sea bass when in season.

Since his late teens, Captain Eric Newhouse has cultured a passion for fishing on Cape Cod.  This passion has inspired him to open Bhookend Fishing Charters and to become more involved with all aspects of fishing, including commercial fishing from the Cape Cod shore.  

Capt. Josh Zacharias has spent his life fishing and navigating the waters around Cape Cod. Born in Truro and raised on the Provincetown waterfront, he got his sea legs about the same time he learned how to walk. His seafaring career officially began at age 14 when he got a job as a mate on the Dolphin Fleet, working side by side with the legendary Capt. Al Avellar. A career in commercial fishing followed, and over the years he continued to build his reputation as a formidable surf caster, guiding day and nighttime bass trips on the outer beaches of the Cape. When wider horizons beckoned he spent his time in the blue water canyons south of the islands and the ocean waters to the north and east, hook-and-lining and harpooning for giant bluefin tuna.  

Josh credits his father, Capt. Zach Zacharias, with teaching him what it takes to be a great fisherman. For 30 years Capt. Zach has been a light-tackle guide out of the fishing village of Cortez on the west central coast of Florida.  

Josh holds a USCG master’s license and is certified in first aid and CPR. 

Hindsight Sportfishing is a full service charter company with over 49 years combined experience fishing the waters from Florida to Maine. Capt. Brett Wilson and the crew of the Hindsight specialize in the pursuit of giant bluefin tuna, both inshore and offshore. When not chasing giant bluefin, the Hindsight is hooking their clients up to school bluefin tuna, big striped bass, and bluefish in the waters of Cape Cod Bay and beyond. Primarily fishing out of Rock Harbor, in Orleans, Cape Cod, MA, the Hindsight also fishes tournaments on both sides of the Cape. The Hindsight is also available to fish the NE Canyons from ports on the south side of the Cape.

 Our team is made up of two Cape Cod natives who have a serious passion for fishing! Captain's Nick Cannata and Chris Blake both grew up fishing the waters surrounding Cape Cod. What started out as weekend warrior missions has quickly escalated into full time seasonal jobs for these two. Whether it's early season haddock fishing, striped bass fishing , or Jig and Pop for bluefin tuna, the Unreel team has you covered!

Captain Tyler Macallister been chasing fish recreationally and commercially since
the age of 12 beginning with a 12' wood skiff the named "River Rat."  5 years and 3
boats later he took a 1st Mate site on a Bluefin Tuna boat in 1985, harpooned and
rod and reeled his first Giant Bluefin that first year and has been chasing Giant
Bluefin Tuna ever since. Besides Bluefin, he will fish for just about any other species
of fish that swim in New England waters including striped bass, bluefish and many
species of groundfish. Captain Tyler holds a Masters Captains License issued by the
United States Coast Guard, License # 311327

26 foot Fortier, turbo diesel, all safety gear, full electronics. We fish for striper bass, blue fish, tuna fish, sharks. may see whales, sunfish, Great White sharks, or dolphins.

​4 hour charter available up to 6 people 650.00 and 8 hour trips are 850.00 . please take care of the mate a 20 % tip is standard, they work hard. Kids welcome. We clean and bag your catch as you want it..
