Capt. Phil Howarth first visited Cape Cod and the Goose Hummock on Honeymoon in 1994. Transfixed by the variety of fish to be caught, a long term plan to live here full time came to fruition in 2012 when he moved with his family. He and wife Jan bought the store later that year and have been working tirelessly ever since to continue growing the store from strength to strength. When not in the store, Phil can be found chasing all manner of species of fish on and around the Cape. Tuna are his particular favorite target whether it be battling giants from the gunnel or chasing smaller fish on topwater lures on light tackle.

Jan Howarth has the challenge of processing the mountain of inventory that arrives into the store from suppliers on a daily basis. When not tied to a laptop, she enjoys to walk the beaches of the Cape in search of shells and sea glass. On summer evenings, Jan can sometimes be found on her lobster boat in Cape Cod Bay enjoying her recreational lobster permit. Not to be outdone on the fishing front, she has a habit of catching the biggest fish of the trip whenever out with husband Phil.
